The manga series "Kindergarten Wars" is entering its final arc and will be taking an eight-week break.

In a recent announcement, it was revealed that the manga "Kindergarten Wars" is entering its final arc. Concurrently, it was announced that there would be an eight-week hiatus in publication due to the author's health concerns. The series is scheduled to resume on March 27, 2025, focusing on the concluding "America" arc.
Final Arc with Hiatus
Author and illustrator Yu Chiba confirmed via his X account (formerly Twitter) on January 29, 2025, that the storyline of Kindergarten Wars is now reaching its final narrative climax.

The "America" arc is expected to bring closure to the long-standing conflicts of the protagonist, Rita, a former elite assassin. It was also announced that there would be a publishing break until the end of March, which Chiba attributes to ongoing back problems.

The series has been serialized on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ platform since September 2022 and is also distributed worldwide via the MANGA Plus service. To date, 13 tankōbon volumes have been released, with the latest volume published in Japan on January 4, 2025. American publisher Yen Press plans to release the first volume physically in April 2025, underscoring the series' international expansion.
Editorial Impact
Industry experts see the decision to temporarily pause the manga as a strategic move to ensure the quality of the finale. "Health issues among mangaka are not uncommon, but hiatuses of this length often indicate a careful approach to the creative process," I think.
To keep fans entertained during the break, the spin-off Yōchien Wars -LUKE-, which has been running since November 2024, will continue to be published.
The spin-off focuses on Luke, and the storyline is 180 pages long.
A Look at the Protagonist and Her Mission
Rita, also known as "Convict 999," is a protector who shields an elite kindergarten from the dangers of world politics.
Despite her skills as an assassin, her weakness for attractive men repeatedly serves as a driving force in the narrative.
The series is set to continue on March 27, 2025. We can only hope that Rita will successfully steer her mission—and Chiba his health—into safe harbor.
