The fifth season is titled "Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc" and is once again being directed by Kenjirou Okada ("RWBY: Ice Queendom") at Studio CloverWorks. The animation studio CloverWorks will release the new season in April 2025.

The trailer shows Sebastian and Ciel in a dark and gloomy landscape set in Wolfsschlucht. The atmosphere is quite eerie and ominous with flames and fog. It conveys a sense that the pair is trapped, due to the cage in the background and the fences. Ciel himself appears confident and determined as ever. The scenes perfectly match the gothic theme.

This time, Ciel and Sebastian travel to Germany, specifically to Wolfsschlucht. This is a mysterious village hidden deep within the dark Werewolf Forest.

It's made particularly exciting by the new character Sieglinde and her companion Wolfram. This upcoming arc will be full of Gothic horror and morally ambiguous questions, surpassing all previous arcs. Fans are eagerly awaiting the arc and can look forward to its release!
