Fermat's Cuisine: Mathematics Meets Culinary Arts

The blend of mathematics and cooking aims to provide new entertainment. Yūgo Kobayashi's well-known manga "Fermat no Ryōri" is being adapted into an anime series. Kodansha announced this in the upcoming February issue of "Monthly Shonen Magazine," which will be released on January 6th.

The manga revolves around two extraordinary talents: Gaku Kitada, a brilliant mathematician, and Kai Asakura, a young, highly gifted chef. After personal setbacks in their respective careers, the paths of the two protagonists cross. Gaku discovers Kai's successful restaurant and decides to embark on a new journey with him.

Kobayashi launched the series in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in September 2018. To date, four volumes have been published, with the latest released on September 28, 2023. Due to the series' popularity, a live-action adaptation already premiered in October 2023.

The creator of "Fermat no Ryōri" is a well-established figure in the manga scene. Since January 2015, his work "Aoashi," based on a concept by Naohiko Ueno, has been appearing in Shogakukan's "Weekly Big Comic Spirits." The series, which will conclude with its 40th volume, won the "Best General Manga" award at the 65th Shogakukan Manga Awards. The anime adaptation of "Aoashi" began airing in April 2022 and was streamed internationally by Crunchyroll.

The fusion of mathematics and culinary arts opens up entirely new perspectives in the anime world. This unique blend of precision and creativity promises a captivating series.
