GC Novels announced on Monday, coinciding with the release of the seventh manga volume in Japan, that ROLL OVER AND DIE: I Will Fight for an Ordinary Life with My Love and Cursed Sword! is getting an anime adaptation.

To celebrate, commemorative illustrations were revealed by light novel illustrator Kinta, manga artist Sunao Minakata, and the new cover illustrator, kodamazon. Further details, including the team, cast, and release date, have yet to be announced.

Commemorative Illustrations

The anime adaptation is based on the light novel series written by kiki, with illustrations by kinta.

It originally began as a web novel on the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro in January 2018. Micro Magazine later acquired the series and began publishing it in print under their GC Novels imprint in July 2018. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the English translation.

A manga adaptation, drawn by Sunao Minakata, has been serialized online via Micro Magazine's Comic Ride website since December 2018 and has also been licensed for English by Seven Seas Entertainment.

Seven Seas Entertainment describes the story as follows:

Flum Apricot was never meant to be a hero. Despite across-the-board zero stats and a power she can’t even use, she somehow finds herself in a hero party.

But Flum’s life hits a low when the party’s renowned sage, Jean Inteige, decides the useless girl is dead weight and arranges to have her sold into slavery. Thrown to the monsters to feast upon, for her master’s amusement, Flum makes the desperate choice to grab for a cursed weapon…and something new awakens within her. A dark tale of one woman’s bloody rampage to reclaim her life!

Concluding Remarks

The adaptation of "Roll Over and Die" into an anime promises to be an intense and unforgettable viewing experience. Flum's story of despair and newfound strength in a cruel world is both captivating and inspiring.

We eagerly await to see how this gripping narrative will be brought to life on screen.
